Boy Abunda with his Latest win in the PMPC Star Awards for TV

The King of Talk Show, Boy Abunda bagged his 15th consecutive trophy as Best Male Showbiz Oriented Talk Show Host in the recent PMPC Star Awards for Television. He won for the 11th year as host of ABS-CBN's long-running showbiz magazine show The Buzz the four earlier awards were from his previous show. Boy is now eleveted to the Hall of Fame since he has won for 15 years straight and can no longer be nominated next year.

“The best things about receiving awards are, number one you become grateful for all the blessings na ibinibigay ng Diyos. Pangalawa, paalala ito na dapat mong pagbutihin ang iyong trabaho dahil sa responsibilidad mo sa mga manonood at para sa tiwalang ibinibigay sa iyo.”

Boy Abunda remained humble even after reaching Hall of Fame Status. Boy said that the past 15 yeards of being a TV host was filled with so much learing.

“Wow, 15 consecutive years! Ang dami kong natutunan. Hindi lamang sa 15 years dahil before that may mga pagkakataong hindi ako nanalo. I’ve learned a lot from so many people, from directors, writers, co-hosts, people I interviewed. Sasabihin ko sa kaibuturan ng aking puso, the good things happened because of the people who worked with me. Ang mga mali naman I take full responsibility.”

The Bottomline won as Best Public Affairs Program. He was also given the Best Public Affairs Program Host for the said show. “Nakakataba ng puso ang award na natanggap ng The Bottomline. Napakasaya naming lahat. Lalo naming pagiigihin at pagbubutihan ang ating trabaho. Maraming salamat sa PMPC, sa mga manonood, advertisers, sa creative team, mga bosses.”
