AJ Banal wins over disqualification against Nicarugan foe

The Pinoy Boxer AJ "Bazooka" Banal own by disqualification over his Nicaraguan opponents Luis Alberto Perez of the main event at the waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu this Sunday.


Perez tagged Banal with a right cross white the referee was separating the boxers in Round 7.

Rendering the Pinoy Boxer unfit to continue the fight after the punch sent Banal down to the canvass.

The reports said Banal was dominating the fight before the knockdown.

Melligen, Pagara and Laput post victories

Filipino Mark Jason Melligen, meanwhile, defeated Mexico’s Bladimir Hernandez by technical knockout.

Melligen, who has campaigned overseas in his last few fights, halted the visiting Mexican in the third round of his 10-rounder, non-title bout.

The Filipino dominated Hernandez with solid shots to the body.

Pinoy lightweight Jason Pagara also showed potential when he sent his Thai foe Sapapetch Sor Sakaorat thrice to the canvass.

Referee Tony Pesons halted the fight at the second round after seeing Pagara thoroughly beating the Thai.

Veteran boxer Ramie Laput boxed his way to a unanimous victory over Larry “Bon Jovi” Canillas.

Laput outpointed Canillas with very good counter punching in their 8-round encounter.

The judges saw it 78-74, 77-75 and 78-75 for Laput.
